Description: This popular Nordic trail system, located near Newport, WA, offers rolling terrain with a few steep pitches and goes through stands of Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine. The trails are groomed weekly during the winter months and provide excellent cross-county and snowshoeing opportunities. These trails are part of the Washington State Sno-Park System, so a Sno-Pass from Washington State Parks is required in winter.[read more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]

The trails also provide opportunities for mountain bikers and horseback riders. There is a large parking area that will accommodate horse trailers.

The twisting trails wind through mixed conifer forest. The trail system lies in big game winter range which provides opportunities for seeing deer and other wildlife. There is a nice mix of plants associated with drier habitats.

The Geophysical Trails are nice trails in the summer months, but is transformed in the winter to an exceptional snowshoe and cross country ski area. The number of different trails in the system will bring you back again and again.[/read]
