Sherman Trail #12
The Sherman Trail #12 is a short, 1.3 mile climb providing the shortest route to connect with the Kettle Crest National Recreation Trail. The trail winds through the shade of the forest and crosses several mountain streams, making it lovely even on a warm summer’s day.
To get to the trailhead, take Forest Service Rd 2040 (Karamip Rd) off of Hwy 20, just west of Sherman Pass. Karamip Rd is wide and well-maintained, continue for about three miles to Forest Service Rd 2040-065 (Packrat Ridge Rd). This road is a little more narrow and rough, but a passenger vehicle with good ground clearance should be able to navigate it. Continue for about two miles to the trailhead on the left.
