Jungle Hill Trail #16

The Jungle Hill Trail begins near Sherman Creek in Ferry County and steadily climbs with an elevation change of more than 2000 ft. The 3.5 mile trail intersects with the Kettle Crest Trail. Jungle Hill can be hiked as an out-and-back, or you can continue on the Kettle Crest, which is also part of the Pacific Northwest Scenic Trail. The trail meanders through lodgepole forest and open meadows, making it a great late spring and summer hike for wildflower viewing. Come fall the tamaracks will dazzle. These pictures were taken in early May, when there was still snow to be found along parts of the trail. Set up your basecamp at the Jungle Hill Campground, where the trailhead is located and make a weekend of it!
