South Skookum Lake Trail

The South Skookum Trailhead is located next to the boat ramp area at South Skookum Lake Campground. This non-motorized trail is a 1.3 mile long loop and also includes a 0.3 mile spur trail.  This popular trail follows the west and south shoreline of the lake and offers scenic views of the lake.  For hikers interested in wildlife, deer and moose can frequently be spotted along the edge of the lake.   Other small forest animals and birds can also be observed along the trail.   Five benches, which were installed by a local boy scout troop are scattered along the trail and offer visitors an opportunity to stop and enjoy the scenery. There is a $10.00 Day Use Fee to park in the campground area.
