The Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge- Mill Butte Trail rises 410 feet from the Headquarters parking lot along a 4.5 loop trail. A good portion of the trail is on old road and rail beds, making for an easy hike. A creek and plenty of wildlife make this trail a great choice for a family adventure. The peak can be accessed via a short spur at the top of the trail. It offers a panoramic view over Starvation Flat to the Calispel Peak. The trail wanders through open pine meadows and along the creek.
