Deer Creek Summit
South Loop Trail

The Deer Creek Summit South Loop Trail #43 is a groomed cross-country ski trail in the winter, and becomes both a hiking and mountain bike trail in the spring, summer and fall months. The trail is a 3.1 mile route, 1.5 miles of that being on fairly level forest service road. It can be turned into a 6.5 mile loop by connecting with the Kettle Crest (North) National Recreation Trail.  This route can also be connected with the Long Alec Trail.  Mountain bikers can also use this trail for easy access to the Taylor Ridge Trail #13. Trail users will be rewarded with views of the Kettle River Valley along the way. During the summer months, there may be restricted access. Be sure and check with the USFS for the current status.
