Five miles northwest of Boyds, WA, is the small, rustic Davis Lake campground, a gem off the beaten track.  Situated at 4500’ in the Colville National Forest, the free campground has 4 camping spots, accommodating RV’s up to 14 feet. The campground is seldom full, and has restrooms but no water. There are beautiful views of the 17 acre lake from each campsite. Boating is noncombustible motors only and the 9-12 inch cutthroat trout fishing is fantastic.  There is an undeveloped boat launch providing boat access, but the shoreline fishing is also good. Fisherman need to be sure and check conditions at the lake on opening day- heavy snowfall can impede access.

The 1.2 mile Davis Lake Campground Trail will take you around Davis Lake to view wildflowers and wildlife. The cross section looks steep but only because there is only a 20 ft. elevation gain in two spots. Davis Lake also offers a nice place to camp if you are walking or riding the nearby Thompson Ridge OHV Trail #107.
